folks i have been playing with another superdetail project. this victim is the revell/monogram b-17g in 1/48. for this one i wanted to make something special. i decided to try to make it so wires went the way they are supposed to. well let me show you what i have done.
now that painting took me quite a while to do. now on to some added effects.
there are about fifty wires and fifteen o2 tanks added. with that many wires i had to go and add a fuse box also.
Yes, definately a good job. Is it just me, or is the bombadier’s chair grossly under scale? When I built my B-17G (waaaay back when i was like 14… 4 years ago) I laughed a little because the pilots seats are so high up, but the little bombadier’s cahir was so tiny…
many many thanks for all the kindness. there is no am stuff in these shots. the o2 tanks are sprue ground to the general shape, the wires are several different varieties (about fifty in total). i am still learning this part of building. i am enjoying this though. something i didnt mention. i have cut out the emergency exit under the pit and the crew door in the rear. both will be open. i also cut off the bomb bay doors and will have them open. i scratched the entry by the emergency door and did a floor for the gunners stations. i agree it will be sad to see the fuse closed but i know it is there. i plan to detail the belly turrent and the wheel wells the same way. i also plan to detail the landing gear.
Even though you won’t see much of it when the fuselage is closed, you’ll always remember building it. Besides, an airplane with half a fuselage doesn’t look very real !
