Anyone use the Floquil Poly Sol decal softening solution??? I have never used decal solutions in the past…just relied on water to do the trick but I picked up a container of this stuff today at my LHS but am unsure about it.
What happens to the decals after the solution has been applied? Can they get brittle[:0]?
Does the solution actually make the decal hold better on the model. I am laying then down on a gloss finish.
Any advice on application.
I am a newbie [:o)] to this sort of thing so I really look forward to any input for the forum!
A Solvent solution like that is designed to soften the decal to allow it to ‘snug down’ over surface detail. Therefore use extreme care when moving a decal that has had Polly Sol applied to it.
As for causing it to stick better, I don’t know about whether it helps ‘glue’ the decal down, but it will make it soft enough to fit around raised details without air bubbles or silvering underneath. I personally only use a solvent when applyinig decals over rough surfaces, or surfaces with raised detail.
