I am making a 1/25 Revell Monogram Dodge Viper for my dad. And I thought it would be nice to put flames on the car [ as if it is goning so fast it is starting to burn up (like a comet or what not)]. And I was just wondering about flaming techniques. Thank you all in advance.[:D][:D]

Here is a site that is actually for customizing Hot Wheels cars, but it has some good tips that can be “translated” to 1/24 scale modeling - especially the “flames” technique you were asking about:

Hobby Lobby has flame sticker stencils. I used them on an AMT 1:25 `57 Vette. I placed them where I wanted them, painted the body color, let it dry, then removed the sticker stencils and hand painted the flames. Turned out okay. I think the sticker stencils are from Model Master.
This month’s issue of ScaleAuto has a pretty good article on doing flames in it. Check it out…http://www.scaleautomag.com/sca/magazine/thisissue.html

J-Man,
Here’s directions to a website that has several very nice “Flame” 1/24 decal sheets you may find useful?
Go to: http://www.slotcarworld.com/
In the Menu index on the left side, look for: “DECALS ALL SCALES”… on that link, check out numbers “98” thru “102”.
You’ll be sure to find something you like in there, and if not, they have a PILE of other great stuff! [;)]
Good luck, and also, think about posting a couple pictures of this project, as it sounds very interesting!
Take care,
Frank
Thanks to all of you for your help. And Frank I will try to post pictures when I am done. Thanks again, I am looking into all of your suggestions.[:D]
