FlaK and German searchlight references?

Greetings!

Does anyone have access or can tell me where to find access to detail references of German searchlights and FlaK. Seems like I can find general shots of the FlaK pieces, but nothing that shows good detail. Considering how often searchlights were using for AA defenses, I can find very little good pics of the lights themselves…

Thanks for any help!

Schiffer publishing has a few titles on Flak auxillary equipment. There are many books about German artillery. I’d recommend a good basic one: Ian Hogg’s “German Artillery of WW2”.

There’s a lot of hogwash out there about German 8.8cm Flak guns though. Basically ignore everyone’s captions except Jentz/Doyle and Trojca. There’s one book by Osprey that I seriously question if either author has ever even SEEN a real 8.8cm Flak gun – its errors are so startling.

Contact me offsite if you want more particulars.

Here are some online pics for you of 8.8cm Flaks

As mentioned above, Schiffer’s; German Flak in World War II, by Werner Muller, ISBN 0-7643-0399-6, has a few photos of searchlights, as well as range finders, listening devices and other related equipment, as well as many photos of the various Flak guns.
