Most awesome [bow]!
I also took a 20 year break…but my first one back didn’t come out anywhere near that good!

Off topic here; I saw an Arado 234/ V-1 huckepak in your slideshow - which kit was it and would you recommend it?
Welcome back. Nice details in the cockpit and on the weathering on your wildcat. Certainly doesn’t look like a first time airbrush job either.
I am currently building my first model in twenty years too. A Revell P-38 in 1/48. Picked it up for about $9.00 (had a %40 off coupon that day) and then spent about $150 on supplies. The great thing is that most of those supplies will last a long time. I expect to have mine done this month. Had some “set backs in the assembly process” causing me to redo a couple of things. By the time I’m done I’ll have been working on it for almost six months! I’ve definitely gotten my money’s worth out of it ($9.00). No airbrush on this one. I’ll try my first spray job on the next one.

FSM has brought back many a modeler to the fold. Tips/advice, etc. are outstanding and make you want to get back into the hobby; whatever versions you crave. After looking longingly at models in the magazine, I rolled out several kits that I’d been lugging around the world and got back into the hobby about 5 yrs ago. Many things have changed over the years and our old slooply applied paints/glue/parts are a thing of the past.
Welcome back with a great model.[#welcome]
Funny, I also picked up a FSM mag as a lark one night while waiting for my daughters’ play to end… and ditto here, a handful of 10$ Revell kits later (and a few hundred $$s in supplies, paints and AB), I have a “workshop” and a nasty case of modelitis… as long as we tell the spouses about the costs of the kits and not the supplies we are fine ![]()
