Hi all! About a month ago, I picked up a copy of FSM and decided to get back into model building again. I found a Revell F4F-4 wildcat in a local stores clearance section for $5.99. After spending another $150 or so on paint, glue, and other misc supplies, I completed my first model in almost 20 years! (I don’t remember spending this much as a kid!) Anyway, I took some photos so let me know what you think. I think I did pretty good for never using an airbrush before, and I kept the wings pretty much straight even after completely screwing up the hinges.

You’re right, it was this expensive when I was a kid either. It’s hard to consider it a hobby, when it costs this much to pursue.

Great looking build- you did an excellent job. Very nice paint, weathering and look. Especially impressive for coming back to the hobby after a long break.

Wow! Thanks for all the compliments! I gotta give credit where credit is due…I did a ton of reading on these forums and used alot of the tips I got from all of your posts. If they would have had something like this years ago, I probably would have never gotten away from modeling. Mabye some day I’ll come up with a useful tip of my own…don’t hold your breath though! [:D]
