Firefly Ic Kitbash

Hey all. Here’s a Firefly Ic I put together with the front from the Italeri M4A1 and the rear from Tamiya M4.

Hey Andy,

Looks like a nice Firefly…you don’t mention which kit you started with??? That mud is very realistically applied. Why did you feel the need to replace those components from Italerei and Tamiya?

I’ve got the dragon VC Firefly on deck so I am curious. Is that the Tamiya cleated track as well?

Looks really cool. I just have one more question, how are the spare track held to the hull and turret?

regards,

Steve

excwllent weathering, I know noyhing about Fireflys but yours certainly looks brilliant, congrat on an excellent job.

Terry.

Nice work on the combination Andy, the context of the duckbills and the deep mud is a perfect match. [tup]

This is one of those builds that makes me wonder why I continue building stuff with my meager skills.Great job.

I don’t know a lot on Shermans but it looks just fine! The mud is really well done and not too overdone IMO. I really like the fact that the tracks have different lenghted links. It adds a nice touch of being used for a while. Congrats!

STUG61,

Excellent job. Shows how nature can take care of camouflage all by itself. A very impressive finish.

Do have one question. Would a Firefly Ic have the large hatches common to the late M4A1? I thought the Ic was the earlier M4A1 body.

Regardless, you have something to be extemely proud of. I’d go [tup][tup][tup][tup].

Thanks for sharing a very inspiring job.

Joe [:D] [:D]

Thanks for the comments guys!!

Crockett, I just wanted to do a kitbash.I have the Dragon Ic kit and the Tank workshop upper hull in the stash.I wanted to expand my skills with putting together two separate kits. The tracks are welded to the hull.I even did the weld beads there, but ya cant’ see 'em.

Panther. The Ic was a composite M4 which had the hatches seen.

Oh ya, the tracks are the dreaded DML indies…I love 'em!!!

what a beauty, love it the weathering looks perfect the stowage makes it look like a well used workhorse, great job.

Awesome! Love the tracks and the weathering! Very good job!

Thanks again all!!!

Your kind words mean alot!!!

Holy [D)] Shermanstein!

That thar’s the yellowest Sherman….
I ever seen! [(-D] LOL.
I know it’s the lighting [^] because the last picture
looks great! I like the way the [tup] surgery came out.
I’ve kinda been thinking of doin’ something along
those lines myself. Looks super.
Stowage & tracks, Right on…

Steve

Hey Andy, hunting season must be over now, you’re back at the bench. LOL Nice to see some work from you, it’s been awhile. Great job and the guys hit all the high points. Always a pleasure to see your work. Still waiting for your dio.

STUG61,

Thanks for educating me. I was under the misunderstanding that even though it was a composite, that the front was from the early M4A1 with smaller hatches.

Again superb work.

Regards,

Joe [:D] [:D]

Thanks again all!!

Yep, Eric, season’s over and I’m getting fat on venison!!And about that dio…

Sooner or later my friend!!![B)]

It looks great to me, the weatherin’ is real good. Nice work!

Allied armor really isn’t my cup of tea, but this build looks great! I really like the mud build up on the tracks and running gear. Very well done. You should really build a dio for this.

Mark

Thanks Mark!!

There are several kits I need to get busy building dios for!!

One of these days!!!
