**richs26-**Well I would but I have restarted the LB-30, I made the mistake of not fixing what was wrong with the Monogram 1/48 B-24D before I converted it, thus everything was botched. I salvaged all of the items I could and this winter will be starting again, but first fixing the major kit flaws.
Oh and to answer you question it will be the B version painted up in american markings with British camoflague and american guns. Pacific theater based bomber.
Thanks for the reply. I want to do a 1/72 version of AL-613, “Tough Boy”, which belonged to the 28th Composite group in the Aleutians, which survived, was rebuilt as a freighter, was seen by its original pilots from 1942 at Tacloban in the Philippines in 1945, and was scrapped at Kingman. I doing some research and am in aplanning stage. The LB-30 would go good with the Academy B-17B I have that will be done as the Ladd Field B-17B (38-216) dressed in the Alaskan Red when it was used at Kodiak during the time of Midway. I am trying to find any photos of the rear tail position but have only seen one that isn’t that clear in the Johnson book (I think?). I want to use PBY-2 or -3 engine cowlings as they used the same R-1830 engines. The top turret was a Martin used behind the wing.
This is and open offer first come first served! I have a 1/48 B-17 E kit that is partially built. The roof panel over the cockpit is missing from the kit. I started to install a doner graft from a Monogram but lost interest. I hate to see it go to waste seeing that it is no longer in production. It would make a great spares or someone could pick up where I left off. I also have the complete Monogram G interior in the box with it. I would be more than happy to donate it to one of my fellow builders and see it completed. I have more kits than I could ever build anyway. Anyone interested can email me at killsnapz420@yahoo.com. As I said first come first served so if you are interested do not hesitate to write. Soulcrusher
WOW, that is a wonderful aircraft and i hope mine will be as good as yours. I plan to build the Mempis Belle with some details with working motors and lights. How long have you worked on your B-17E. Again that is great work. Charlie
