Finished with Base : Alan 1/35 sIG- 33 Infantry Howitzer 4/18

Steve

It is looking real fine…Sorry about being late to the show[:'(]…does anyone make ammunition and dunnage for this guy or are you going to leave him in the travel mode??

Thread from gauze for a lanyard…nice trick…did the Germans have a ball on the end or a T stick???

Now…I will mark this as registration point 1 for Steve and keep it logged in until your mission is complete!!

Rounds Complete!!

Looking good with paint on so far Steve! Nice trick on the lanyard, one more piece of evidence of modelers using “found” materials for things other than their original intent. [;)]

Mike Bill a belated thank you to you both[:D].

I managed to finish up the painting and weathering over the weekend but just managed to get some pics today.

After a coat of future I applied only one decal, an Aber dry transfer DAK palm. These dry transfers are a little tricky at first but on my second try I managed to get it on. The kit came with a decal of a firing chart to go on the inside of the gun shield but when placed in water it broke apart into a bunch of tiny pieces. I ended up painting one on using a stencil for the black and a white artist pencil for the chart lines. It was given a wash of burnt umber using oils and then highlighted using the base color lightened with some MM camouflage gray. Finally a coat of Testors dull coat was applied using my airbrush.

The shovel and pick were painted MM graphite then washed with black followed by a dry brushing of storm gray.Since the handles are real wood I just stained them using some thinned down acrylic raw umber. Aiming post’s were first painted light gray then masked using some strips of painters tape and insignia red was airbrushed on.

Thanks for looking and let me know what you guy’s think[t$t] .

Next up is the base, ammo and crates.

Looks like you are at “0 mils”…and ready to fire!!

My only thought would be the spade. At least from the photos it does not look too worn. Otherwise looking great.

Rounds Complete!!

Wow Steve, nice work on this one all around! Alan decals are notorious for disintegration and your workaround for the firing table slate is perfect! [B]

Love It[t$t]

Tony Lee[:)]

Steve,

WOW! [:D] That is excellent! Very well executed build. Sorry to hear about the decal disintegration. Nothing like watching that happen right before your eyes and thinking, “Switch to plan B”…“WHAT was plan B?”

Cheers

Dave

LOVING THIS TOO especially the tools and the spikes. I think it is safe to say that you made our friend Redleg12 happy…

Totally missed this one out of the gate…

Arty? Really? We expect better than that from you Steve.

Just kidding Mike[:P] Don’t want you pokin’ me in the eye with your Liance missile in Sept.

Mike thanks buddy. your right about the spade I’ll take care of that[Y].

Thanks Bill. Now that I know about those Alan decals I’ll coat them with some microscale decal film before I try to use them.
