Finished "Polish glider"

Here are some pics of my most recent completion, three polish gliders:

a Jantar standard;

a Sep

and a Bocian

These are old polish kits, the canopies are very bad (even after a bath in future). Fit was ok, except for the canopies.

I made these on vaction with minmal equipment. They where painted with a (ordinary) spray. I had some bleeding of paint under the canopy masks (I did seal the masks with a coat of Future,b ut that wasn’t enough). Maybe I would have had a better result with my AB or a spray can with modelling paint. Decals where OK, thin and settled nicely with vinegar. White decal strip was used on the Sep for canopy framing.

Nice work! We don’t see many glider models on here, thanks for sharing.[tup]

Very nice job on a unique subject! I agree with Darren, it’s nice to see something out of the ordinary come across these forums. Nicely done.

Remco, other than the canopies, those gliders look pretty cool! Nice work, and thanks for sharing! Were they nice and relaxing builds for your vacation?

Very interesting, different builds. You did a very nice job.

Andy

I LOVE to fly gliders! Nice to see some modeled here. I don’t recall seeing any of american models…though admittedly I haven’t really looked. Nothing like soaring to free the mind and spirit!

Man, ya got me! I was expecting an F-105 thread.

I’m building “The Polish Glider” as one of the five Thuds I’ve got building right now!

Being from Chicago and having a little Język polski in me myself, I have to admit I was half expecting a Polish joke. Sorry…that’s bad.

Znakomity praca na samolocie!

Nice job on the trio! All are very well done.

Mark

I bet that you are not the only one who thought they would see pics of that famous F-105.

I must admit, that is why I used "polish glider"as a subject line instead of “three gliders from Poland”. [:o)]

LOL Quagmyre!

Speaking of gliders, is there any manufacturer producing WWII military gliders?

Yes.

Sanger Engineering makes 1/48 vacuforms of the Airspeed Horsa Glider and the Waco CG-4 Hadrian glider used during D-day.

Italeri make a 1/72 scale plastic injection molded version of the Waco Hadrian glider.

Chalk me up as another expecting something on Major Don Kutyna’s F-105. Anyway, nice work on the gliders that are a seldom seen item.
