Finished N1K1-Tamiya 1/48

Although they had to go underground and work in secret, hiding from Manny’s agents…my elves finished Tamiya’s 1/48 N1K1…

“…and I will love him and pet him…and squeeze and hug him…and I will call him GEORGE.…”

pics are…meh…need to get a better camera…

as always all comments are welcomed…

Very nice Build Carlos. Well done [Y].

Regards, Rick

Beautiful bird Carlos. I love the finish.

Carlos

Great job on that George, looks fantastic.[B] If its anything like the Hasegawa kit then it was a joy to build. I have the 1/24 scale Bandai kit which I want to go full out on scratchbuilding details in the engine and cockpit.

Nice build! [Y]

Nice touch on the weathering and markings. Really a handsome stance and display. Looks good on the shelf. Rick.

Outstanding Carlos! love the subtle weathering.

Nice, Carlos.

Looks nice Carlos. I like the understated weathering on it. Don’t see too many Japanese birds this way.

Thanks all…had this kit in my stash for years…

I really didnt want to go too crazy with the weathering…there were some issue with the build…the PE for the cockpit I had a helluva time with. It was an old eduard brass set…I didnt really like the way it came out…thats why there are no pics of the pit…decal were ok…I didnt gloss coat before decals so there is some silvering especially on the flaps warning lettering…oh well…over all I was happy with the kit. Oh and the rear canopy broke as I was cleaning a bit of exess paint and tape glue…look closely and you will see the crack future is good…but no that good,…

Thanks again.

Carlos

Wow Carlos she’s a beauty [ht]

She’s one of my favorite Japanese aircraft and you did a fantastic job on her. Love the subtle touch on the weathering. Only complaint is you shouldn’t have pointed out the flaws since I’d never have noticed them otherwise [;)]

Really a stunning build, and refreshing to see a lightly weathering paint scheme. Thanks for sharing her with us!
