WOW Guy that is some piece of work there. Just gorgeous. The look of the leather seats, finsihing, deatiling… great. The open drawers are an excellent touch too.
Luftwoller: I like it! Nice attention to the chips and scratches. I agree, those drawers are a nice touch. One suggestion: You may want to wear that cargo area some more, it could use more abuse, especially some long scrathes and some grease/grime. Are you building the trailer too???
I have the FAMO w/trailer kit in the stash, I plan to winter camo’ it and add a Stug IV on the trailer…someday…[^]
Your Famo looks GREAT Guy!! [tup][tup] Very nice work all around…didn’t even see the missing lights until you mentioned it! What’s up with the windshield though? Does it have some type of canvas cover?
SMJ- my plan was to go a bit mad on the load bay and long scratches sound like a good idea. The only thing is im committed to a few GB’s and time is of the essence. And as everyone knows, stowage and figs take forever. I will come back to this one and improve and pack it with stuff. Cheers again.
Buffel, the windscreen cover is supposed to be canvas. Most pics i have of famo’s in the field have them on. I made it from lead sheet.
Simply STUNNING work!!![bow] I have one of these in the stash, what kind of tracks come with the kit? I haven’t looked at it in a long time. Again wonderful build.
The tracks are just like the SdKfz 251’s with the track piece and the rubber pad that joins them together, except larger. They are fully workable as well. They litterally took me 15mins a side, inc cutting all the bits from the sprue.
Guy, you’ve really distinguished yourself as one of the premier modelers on this site in a very short time; this is a stunning build, and usually, “supply” or prime-mover-type vehicles don’t really twist my throttle, but I’m thoroughly impresssed with this build! You’ve done an all-around fabulous job!
I love the convincing sheen of the seat covering! The only thing I would add is a little more bare metal on the tops of the rails and the grab handles by the seats; other than that, it looks “prime”–as it should!
Really well done Guy. I love the camo and subtle weathering. Tracks are sweet too. The tool boxes are cool. Sadly you have a few pin marks on the inside of the door. Might you want to add some weathering to the grill area? Thanks for sharing.
Thank you all for the kind words. I did really love this build. As you know im fairly new to armor modelling and the Famo has always been high on my list of ‘to do’s’. Price had sort of pushed it a little further down the list. Hence the reason why i didnt get it with the trailer as well.
Mobious, the figures are all in a big box (Theres loads of them) I will someday have a go.
Doogster, Back from your hols/ buisness trip i see, and such kind words. Were you drunk LOL.
Tigerman, I noticed the pin marks but hoped you wouldnt LOL (V Lazy on my part)
Seth, The tools are great arnt they. I was going to get them from either Royal models or Panther models but found them in the end on e#bay
Beauty of a job Guy amazing job on the small details and the lenses are a real nice touch, that backs gonna take a lot of filling up though heh, great job.
What more can I say Luftwoller, I’ve been following this build in the Supply and Support GB, and you’ve done a FANTASTIC job on this Famo!!![tup][bow][tup]
