Here is one of the 2 that the masses voted for to be built. Just the run of the mill Sherman nothing special added really. Did fill in the sponsoms with cardboard from a kit box and matchsticks. Also replaced the board across the front with a piece of balsa wood. And yes that would be why it looks like real wood. Also drilled out the machine gun barrel. Still have a few ideas for a dio roaming around in my not so crowded mind so thats why there’s no baggage and heavy weathering done to it yet. Still a few projects coming dow the assembly line before a dio can be done. Let me know what y’all think.
Looks great, Chris…
Your weathering is awesome…!
Regards, Dan
AWESOME!!!
Great job chris!!!
Love it…The weathering and color is impeccable. Great job man! …Just one thing…can’t it be on fire? It would be even more realistic if it was on fire.[;)]
Looks great Chris !!!
Nice touch with the graffitti.
Don’t worry about Ausf and his flames comments … he must be confusing this magnificient beast with all the German armour that was nothing but burnt out hulks by the end of the war.
Looks great. If you insert it into a diorama be sure to share [:)]
As always a great build Chris. Unless my eyes are as fuzzy as my mind, I think the tops of the tracks should be worn metal, not rust. They are steel tracks, are they not? Sorry if I’m incorrect.
Looks nice and heavy like it should.
Great job and congratulations for finishing the GB! I was too pooped after doing the entire diorama from the panther build to jump into the sherman build but I enjoy what I have seen come out of it!!!
Thanks for the compliments.
ausf- yea I think it is peering out at the horizon at the big ball of fire it just caused to some poor hapless kitty!
Eric- I think it is just lighting that is makeing them look like that or some of the pastels fell down onto them. To me looking at it they look almost to shiney, nothing some mud down the road won’t fix right up though!
muzzleflash- don’t know if it was really part of the group build. only made 2 posts there I think. I just started mine maybe 2 weeks ago and thought the build was done.

lizardqing2, Nice job on the weathering. Regarding the tracks, I thought those were the rubber type so the silver on the edges is correct and not on the portion that comes in contact with the ground.
Great work!
Nice ‘n’ dusty…just like I like 'em!
[:I] Sorry Chris, I guess I just don’t know my Sherms. I should have realized Robert would have politely corrected you if that was indeed the case. Sorry. Nonetheless, fine build.
Great work, Chris. Thanks for letting me see it a bit early. Ed
Thanks again guys. You are probally right Eric, Robert would not have let something wrong on a Sherman get by. Of coarse maybe one day we can catch him off guard and convince him a panther is a Sherman [}:)]
And that would be the day I stop searching for the perfect buffet … not going to happen !!!
planes and gas and fireflies, OH MY [:D]
beautiful build.
