I picked up a bottle of Micro Scale’s Micro Weld, anticipating the day when my daughter will want to glue a model together, rather than a snap kit. Anyway, this is listed as a non-toxic glue, and smells quite citrus-ey. I have no idea what is in it.
Anyway, it’s quite thin, like Tamiya Extra Thin. It also seems to melt the plastic slightly, and weld it just like some of the other glues!
Anyone else seen/used it? What are the long term effects? I couldn’t pry the pieces apart easily, and the seams disappeared with a little sanding…

Yeah, testors nontoxic tube glue in the blue tupe smells very citrucy also. it is very thin, thinner than i like, but it take longer to cure, but ti works fine.
Really? I’ve never had very good luck with the blue Testor’s stuff. Of course, this was years ago, but after one tube, I never looked back…I thought it didn’t bond very well, took forever to cure, etc/

no luck with the microweld. it doesn’t seem to glue. it seems these days all i use are tamiya regular, testors tube, and medium gap filling super
I never use the nontox testors stuff anyhow though.
I tried the newer mico-weld but as mentioned above it just doesn’t set fast and the citrus seems to retard the melding process.
Really? I did notice that I left the bottle opened for a few hours, and then it seemed to work better. Don’t glop the stuff on, use thin coats, and it glues right up…
