Okay, this is my first GB but one of my favorites subjects: military ambulances. I’ve built 3 so far, and I’ve got several more to go, so I thought we could all have some fun together. Here’s the guidelines:

good idea of GB

Count me in, I’ll do a WC-54 in AIF [Australian] sercice

You got it!

Okay, here’s my first visual update. [8D] Working on the Fuchs at the moment and this is as far as I’ve gotten:

Spent a fair bit of time working on the M997 last night as well; unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures. I’ll try to get some posted this weekend.

Okay, here’s an update since there seems to be very little life in this GB. Completed 90% of construction on the M997 Maxi-ambulance last week; masked the windows at lunch and hoping to prime it this evening. The Fuchs got it’s first coat of white paint at lunch as well, and it looks pretty good. Assembled the tires and wheels, so those are ready to go once the main vehicle is completed. Pictures tomorrow!

Okay, as promised, pictures of my progress. Here’s the Fuchs UN ambulance with it’s first coat of white:

And here’s the M997 after it’s windows have been masked:

Primed the M997 after the picture last night; hoping to paint the green tonight, also.

good progress…

i decided for a rustic ambulance a wagon pulled by horses

is an old esci kit

Sorry for the dark picture on the Fuchs, lighting was being weird in my workshop. Anyway, it got it’s second coat of white last night:

Started masking the M997 as well…talk about tedious! But the end result will be worth it.

For those who are wondering, I make a scale photo copy of the camouflage layout (in this case a field manual on painting US military vehicles) and then cut out the different sections and put them on with rolled up masking tape. Works pretty well…this is how I camo’d my Mosquito I posted a few months back. Found the technique in an issue of FSM, actually. [:D]

Got the decals on the Fuchs ambulance and another coat of Future on it:

Got the M997 almost completely painted:

Almost done! Well, with the Fuchs, anyway. [:)] I’m hoping to get the accessories (shovels, pics, axe, etc) done tonight and dullcote the entire thing tomorrow (or maybe tonight)!

Not a whole lot more progress on the M997…got all the camouflage done and the underside painted flat black last night. Hoping to Future it tonight.

Finished the Fuchs last night, and it turned out really great!

Very pleased overall with it, considering it’s white.

Futured and decaled the M997 last night, as well as painting all the lights and details. Hoping to dullcote this evening and put the tires/wheels on. Should be done tomorrow. Yay!!

Got all the decals finished Monday and a flat coat applied last night. Don’t care for the MM Lusterless (Flat) spray…I think I’ll go back to using the regular Testors Dullcote (I get better results).

Finished the M997 last night! Took a couple pictures before I put it in my display case. Other than the overspray on the black (that’ll teach me to use a rattlecan for camouflage, even if it’s masked!) I’m pretty happy with it.

Anybody else interested in completing this build or am I really all there is? [V]

Hey Knight.
Would a 1/35 UH-60 Medivac chopper qualify for this GB? If so count me in.[8D]

You’re in! I’ve added you to the list at the top of the build’s main post. Welcome! Looking forward to progress pics!

Thanks. Now for the fun stuff![8D]

Anyone else intersted in joining up?

Just a little bump.

Hello, This GB sounds interesting. I don’t know a darn thing about military ambulances, but I enjoy learning about new stuff… I would like to join, but I’m going to need some direction on picking out a kit. Thanks, Todd
