Fallout inspired take on TT Combat's Dinogas Filling Station

Howdie folks. Just finished: This is my take on TT Combat’s excellent (and cheap!) Dinogas Filling Station MDF kit. It’s 28mm (1/56scale) and painted with the upcoming fallout RPG in mind.

It’s base coated in AK & Tamiya acrylics and finished with oils and acrylics. It’s my first go at post apoc terrain so there was a lot of trial an error involved. I’ve got a step by step build log and more pictures over on my blog: http://www.richbuilds.com/articles/build-review-tt-combats-dinogas-filling-station-28mm-mdf-wargames-terrain/

Hello Richard!

Lookin’ good! I like Fallout and your Gas Station would feel perfectly at home there!

I could really use an explanation (preferably with pictures) of your rust streaks technique - what do you use to achieve it and how you do it.

Thanks for sharing and have a nice day, with not so much radiation

Hi Richard !

I do like that building . Or what’s left of it . I do have one question though . In the repair bay shouldn’t there be a hoist head and rack on the floor ? Also , If you don’t want the hoist head , then the hole where the hydraulic cylinder went along with a floor drain ?

Could you perhaps make the broken windows more Broken and less perfect . I know I am picking nit . That is still Knock - Out work . Sorry . T.B.

Beautiful diorama!

What you see is what comes in the kit (apart from the floor debris) - there’s a ton of stuff than could be done with the interior, but I’ve left it empty so I can populate it on the fly as needed. Eventually the players will take over this building, fortify it and use it as a base of operations.

I’ve gotta say that in all my time here on the forum (only since 2012) I’ve never been to this section of the forum. Wow, I mean WOW is all I can muster!!! [:|]

Wow, that’s a great job weathering her! [Y]

Didn’t even notice T.B. nits- I was too busy scoping her out for feral ghouls hiding in the debris…

I concur about the windows -they are a bit to same-same, for lack of a better term. But if that’s how they come…

Awsome Fallout has always been my favorite game series and you nailed it!
