I have a question about paint colors for this model. I have found conflicting information and am not sure which is the most accurate. I need to know what color the cockpit is on this Bearcat. I have seen: olive drab, grey, zinc chromate and yellow chromate. What is the correct color?

I think this is what you are looking for. The Bearcat is almost at the bottom. [tup]
Grumman F8F Bearcat
In keeping with the by-then standard Grumman practice, wheel wells of the F8F were Glossy Sea Blue, together with undercarriage legs and covers. The cockpit was Interior Green up to the lower edge of the instrument panel, with flat black above that line. The seat was black.
Inside of the cowling was Interior Green or possibly flat black.

Back in the early 1980’s there was one completely restored Bearcat by the air cargo area on the NW corner of the Miami International Airport next to Air Haiti. I spoke to the mechanic at the hangar and he actually let me seat in the cockpit of the big cat. [:P] Sorry but I can’t remember the colors of the cockpit. The Bearcat in this video may be the same bird that I sat in 30 years ago. I do remember it having the same nose art as the one in the video.
