F4 Phantom 1/8 scale

Thought some of you might find this interesting. I visited the Naval Air Station Pax River museum today in Lexington Park, Md. They had a 1/8 scale model of the F4 Phantom. The modeler spent 2000 hours on it.

Now that’s pretty darn impressive!

Wow, I’d like to see that in person.

That is supere build. I wonder if it’s buit from plastic or wood ?

Given that it’s 1 1/2" = 1’-0" so, one inch, to scale is 1/8" (0.125" 3.175mm) thick, using actual aluminum would not be out of line.

Its metal of some kind. I’m guessing CapnMac82 is probably right he probably used aluminum.
