There is a planned release of three 1/48 versions of this AC in 2004.
Who’s going to make it? And, when in 2004? I personally would like to see one.
I sure hope it is not just a rumor. The modeling industry has forgotten about the early jet aircraft used by the navy. I need several to complete my collection.
Hello all,
it is from amtech.
check the hyperscale site there are also somke other announcments from this firm.
cheers

I’d make a horrible reporter huh? Maybe I should try suspense writing.
Yep It’s from AMtech and there will be three variants, the F2H-2, F2H-2P/N Recce/night fighter, and the F2H-3/4 “stretch” with Canadian markings.

If they say 2004 then I think we can be pretty certain that they really mean 2005.

…unless they’re like the automotive industry.
I think Ford’s releasing the 2008 Crown Vic this fall.[:p]
I have never built anything from that company. What is the quality of their kits? Would it be worth the price?
Great news I’ve wanted some Korean war era Naval Jets, now someone needs to come out with a quaitly F9F-8 Cougar, and some of the early Naval Jet A/C,
as for AMTech I’ve heard they took over the old AMT lines and might release the A-20, P-40, F7F series kits again, I’d hope they do they where great kits and with a little aftermarket help they become ausome kits too, does anybody know when they are to release their P-61 series?

Berny I have the 1/48 Hs-123. It is the old Ertl (or Esci, it escapes me at the moment) wit a Black Box resin cockpit and NEW unspatted landing gear. Overall this is a nice kit but the cowl does require a little work. I am quite satisfied with the buils and will be doing more of their stuff.
Cuda the P-40s are out and the P-61 series is due soon.

Thanks Derek. It looks like it should be a good kit to build.

I have built the Huckbein by AMTech. It is a fine kit. Nice detail and good fit. AMTech stuff is a bit simple or plain I guess you could say but it leaves room for improvement without adding a bunch of junk you first have to remove and clean-up just to make improvements. The AMTech kits, the ones I have seen or built anyways, are clean, accurate representations OOB, but without tons of detail as with say an Accurate Miniatures kit.
Hope that made sense.

With luck I will have mine finished this weekend and post some pics.
