Hi All,
I am looking for information on the F-5C Freedom Fighter, in particular the Skoshi Tiger program.
I have got as far as the Refuelling Probe being on the opposite side but did the F-5C have the engine doors?
Any info or photos would be greatly appreciated!
Many thanks
Steve
By engine doors, do you mean the louvre type auxillary inlets on the rear fuselage as seen on the F-5E/F? Looking at photos, they do not apear to be present on the F-5A/B/C

If your talking on the bottom of the aircraft, the aft 1/2 is removeable, hard to see with these pictures. 4 bolts torqued at 100 inch lbs, 2 at 350 and 2 more at 750. There are panels for access to the gearbox that drives the generators and hydo pumps.
EDIT: even though this is a T-38, same frame. See the line just before the stabs going toward the rudder, taht is the part removed to get the engines out.

Hope the link works

Thanks Gents,
Regarding the Armour plating, was this a plate added to the outer skin?
What I mean is, would this be seen as a physical plate or look like another panel or even at all?
Cheers
Steve
I can’t find any good photos to show one way or another. But an educated guess says that any armor will be internal placed to protect critical systems- engines, fuel, and pilot.
