I am looking for good quality 1/48 kits single and double seater of a Tiger, anyone know of one?
I built three of them(all Testors) when I was around 13 and they were quick to find the wall after being built[}:)]. From what I remember the testors were great but all I see is Italeri kits with the same box as the Testors, are they the same kit?
I would like your input on what is a good kit?
Thank you…
Classic Airframes recently released a series of 1/48 F5 Tiger kits, which are the very best available.
Regards, Rick
there is one 1/48 release from italeri but it has raised panel lines and is lacking in good detail. but as rick has said, the one from CA looks excellent in the box. i just happen to sneak a peak at one that was open at the LHS. don’t know anything about the fit, but its certainly on my list in the future. love the bird too. later.
The CA model of the F-5 series is definately the best on the market. Testors and Italeri are usually the same kit in different boxes.

Monogram had a F-5E and an F-5F in 1/48. Hasegawa had a F-5E in 1/32. The Monogram kits weren’t all that bad and the E had the option to be made as an RF-5E “Tiger Eye” . Detail was fair and it left room for some super detailing.
Dear LoneWolf1Seven:
…and if you want to try with a F-5E different scheme, maybe you can try this:

A Mexican F-5E with a wrap-around camouflage wich no one other F-5 in the world have it, and still flying with the 401 Air Defence Squadron near of Mexico City, I hope this liked you.
Best regards
Manuel
There is a good selection at greatmodels (all A’s)
I went there for a look and just bought a Wyvern ----retail therapy!
I still like the monogram 1/48 F-5E. It has a great detail but raised panel lines. The Italeri 1/48 looks to have promise but decals for the cockpit which is in my opinion unacceptable. All the F-5B and F-5F kits I’ve looked at in 1/48 always seem to be a bit pricey
the Italeri 1/48 scale F-5 is the ex ESCI kit Awood23 and I have that in my to do list along with a 1/72 scale GR5/AV-8B Harrier and a 1/48 scale Mirage 2000 plus lots of other ESCI kits. Now will I be able to get away with using the Verlinden detail sets for the 1/72 scale PanAvia Tornado and F-4 Phantom which are both supposed to be used with the corresponding Hasegawa kits? But of course I dont have those kits I have the ESCI kits.
Thank you all for the help. cote1995 thats acool idea with the wrap around.
I went to Monograms web site and apparently when doing a AC search they dont make any AC,none(someone must be asleep at the mouse)[;)]
Well if Testors and Italeri are one in the same and I liked how the Testors built up I will start with that…
Thanks again…
