F-4U-5 Naval Argentina Corsair - Review

Hey Everyone,

It’s been a while since I’ve been able to post and now that I’ve finished my newest corsair, I thought that I’d share it with you and write this review as well.

1/48 Hasegawa F-4U-5 Argentine Navy Corsair

Basically your F-4U 5N Korean War Corsair with markings for the Argentine Aircraft.

Hasegawa gives you two options to paint a grey scheme or a non-spectacular sea blue one.

I chose the sea blue.

Pro’s - Unique subject and interesting decal markings.

Con’s - Poor fit of the nose cowlings, landing gear wheel-strut assembly a bit tricky, lack of cockpit sidewall detail, poor fit of rocket to pylons.

This kit is recommended to any fan of the argentine navy or the corsair. It’s not the best kit I’ve assembled but it went together with very few problems. A nice upgrade kit with resin or photetch would help. Decals are a bit tricky to position especially tail marking. Hasegawa provides an option on the decal sheet to paint these in place.

Thanks for reading and enjoy the model.

Pretty nice! I really like the prop style and colors.

Looks nice, but you might want to turn the control stick around, i think it’s in backwards.

Nicely done Corsair in seldom seen markings. It’s been a while since I built this kit, but I do recall the fit of the rockets to their pylons was pretty dicey.

Regards, Rick

She looks pretty good to me! I’ll have to watch for that kit!

The stick is in the correct position for this aircraft, but thanks for the suggestion anyway…
