F-4S Tamiya 1/72 scale

Has anyone seen or built an F-4S of Tamiya at 1/72 scale?
Is it good (engraved panel lines, cockpit, etc)?

Never saw an F-4 From Tamiya. The Hasegawa kit is quite nice.

I was with you in saying that Tamiya Didn’t have a 72nd scale F-4S but then I did a bit of a search and guess what? They do offer one. Apparently according to the HobbyLink Japan site it is a re-box of the Italeri kit only offered for sale in the Japan market. Why do they have to make things so confusing?

I’m not familiar with the Italeri kit but here is website address if you want to take a look at it:

A re-box of an Italeri kit may have a Tamiya name on the box, but it’s still an Italeri kit. The Hasegawa kit is much better than the Italeri.

It is indeed a re-box of the Italeri kit. The Hasegawa kit is a much better kit, but I still like this kit. It’s a little weak in the cockpit and has raised panel lines and a few other minor issues but I’ve built two of them and for not too much money and a little effort, you can have a pleasing model. Plus, I like the VF-301 markings.

but wasn’t the Italeri kit the old Escii kit so wouldn’t it be a reboxed kit of a reboxed kit ?

One of them is a copy of the other, though I’m not sure which. The ESCI kit has recessed panel lines so I assume it must be the more recent kit.
