F-15A/C cockpit colors

Can anyone give me the latest on the color of the electronics bay behind the cockpit. Some references state metallic blue-green while other photos I’ve seen have it white or a very light grey. I thank you all in advance.

What!? No F-15 lovers out there?

E

Yea, just don’t have any “recent” data to answer the question! None within 100 miles to check out either! Ok, New Orleans NAS at Chalmett has some F-15’s but I missed the AirShow last Nov.

80 C models on up have Gloss White Bay5 and gun bay (Kadena
has 78 models, lakenheath 83-86 models) 79 and earlier C models have the metalic green bay5 and gun bay, the light gray you speek of is prob dirt and grime my jet(86-167) looked like this.
Just a hint all most all C’s have a funny habbit of cracking all over the place so scab patches are a must the patches on the 1/32 and 1/48 models are for the jets the kit makers looked at for the model.
Aslo Forward Door on engine hump is not on a C model, C model only has one door for the Engine forward mount.
if ya want more ill post latter

Thanks flyboy !! That info helps greatly. I’m surprised the model makers don’t supply that info. Also, my references show the electronics packages to be a medium to dark grey with black details. Any further dtails would be appreciated. Thanks,

E

The A’s had the metalic green paint in bay 5 (behind the cockpit) at least the 76 models did.

Ok heres some more discrepancies on most of the F-15 models out there

-JFS Chimney vents aft of the speedbrake,in-between the engine humps, E
model has 6 (3 per side) split on the centerline by additional avionics
carried by the E model (panel in the centerline is were this avionics goes).
C models only have one vent, which is offset to the left of the centerline,
and the panel is not present.

  • Saber Drains on panel 117l/r removed off all F-15’s due to their
    redundancy

-Left engine bay access door should only have two latches on the trailing
edge, kit has four, two extra’s on the leading edge of the door and only one
access door per 95L This is on the I.F.E.models(E- models) and I.A.F. birds.

-Panel lines around the pitot probes should not be there ( this is from
dirt on the pitot covers) same thing happened on the the Hasegawa 1/48.

-Under the left canopy hinge point is Panel 12, this should not have a
beef-up patch, probably on the aircraft Tamiya used.

-Wing-root anti-collision lights should be larger and a bit more outboard,
the ones in the kit are from the E model kit and reflect the E model.

-AMAD bay cooling scoops (access panel aft of main gear well) was
repositioned to inboard side of panel when the chafe/flare mods were
installed on the aircraft (MISIP) to prevent the chafe from clogging the
vent a causing an overheat condition.

I will post some pics at a later date my computer is on its way from england so cant get at them right now
