Now that I’ve got your attention, here’s my latest plastic project. For a very long time, I’ve wanted to turn a twin engine jet into a single monster engine aircraft. It’s time to realize that vision…[:D]
I can’t wait to see what this MONSTER is gonna look like.
Eddie you scare me sometimes. [(-D]
[#ditto]
That would be like one of those Russian jets that are in the Tu-160 Blackjack. Huge engine. Can’t wait to see it finished.
That little guy is going to be toast!
So, what is that? A 1/48th F-15 with a 1/32nd engine?
eddie miller you are one sick minded individual. I LIKE IT.[tup]
[:O] That is so crazy and great looking! It looks like the F-35 on steroids! I’ll be following this one.
Cheers,
Alex
Exactly. I’m going to try and keep this one simple, but with the way the voices in my head work, nothing is certain until the end.[swg]
Thanks guys.[8D] I’ll work to keep my eye on the ball and work it in an aggressive manner.[:D]
That is one weird looking monster. Are you going to put the F-15 nose on it or try something else?
EDDIE’S AT AGAIN!!![(-D][(-D][(-D][(-D][(-D][(-D][(-D][(-D]
I cant wait to get home so I can see what kind of madness you have conjured up now!
Trading out the nose is always an option, but I hadn’t thought about it yet.[:)]
Here’s the work so far
I cut a badly formed Hornet nose cone in half and placed in the fuselage to give the illusion of the intakes moving toward one area.
The work continues on the smaller bit…
The cockpit is done. Whew![:)]
I’ve gotten a little behind on posting for this one. Here it is up till this time.
I added an intake for the “APU” and for aux cooling.[;)]
I used a nose section from a 1/200 DC-10 for tail fairing to give it a little transistion from the original engines
With the nose on
and what it looks like with the burner can on…
Now thats something you dont see every day. Thats quite a monster engine, alright. Incredible!
The rear angle shot somewhat reminds me of the F-35.
WOW Great Job Scratch Building / Kit Bashing. Now this really is “Kit Bashing” It came out very good.
In fact it IS Very similar to a REAL ACFT unfortunetly whihc did not make it to full porduction and Killed both it’s Original Designer and Investor.
I am speaking of the "BD (BeDe) - 10 it was designed as a follow on to the Infamaous toy BD-5 Bud Light Jet. It looked a great deal similar to your build like a “Single-engined” F-15 Fighter.
It was intended to be the First Commerical Mach-Plus Homebuilt kit. It used at the Time a Surplus F5 Jet engine whihc were relatively inexpensive at the time. The wieght must of been that of a Flea in comparision to the Thrust and used similar to the Russian Secound Generation fighters Push ROD COntrols conneted to the control surfaces.
Something however became unstable and failed Killing BeDe Himself and later an INvestor who bought hte project with the intention of finishing it.
Needless to say the whole project died with them and the plane was never developed.
Yours Mike
After spend a considerable amount of time working on 3 models at a time, I’ve finally got a little progress to show for all the PSR involved with this one.
I’ve added a rearward defense system.
Modified the droptanks
and the paint scheme direction I’m working on. I’ve settled on a name as well. The F-15SE “Arctic Eagle”
Looing great, Eddie!
Are they active or passive defense systems?
Mac
Coming along nice, Eddie.
Thank you Karl and Berny![:)]
Mac, I guess I would have to say passive with a manual override. The three ports on either side would be 6 very big flares for close in missiles and the rocket pods putting out decoys and more flares closest to the burner can.
All I can say is… AWESOME! Eddie… That is one mean Eagle!
