F-14B VF-143 "Pukin Dogs" Done (as done as I'll see it)

Hi everyone.

This is my Hasegawa 1/48 F-14B for the “Tomcat Sunset” group build over at ARC (http://s102164210.onlinehome.us/forums/index.php?showforum=71). The entries will be part of the “Tomcat Sunset” ceremonies in September at Oceana, for the official “retiring” of the F-14. I will ship the kit to Brian Marbrey as it is seen here, he will be doing final attachment of delicate parts (gear doors, weapons pylons, canopy, etc.)at Oceana. (No sense having stuff break off in shipment.)

The cockpit is Aires; the weighted tires are Cutting Edge; the FOD exhaust covers are Steel Beach, as are the intake FOD covers (not shown…they’ll ship separately). The decals are Aeromaster, and went on very well. Paints are Model Master enamels, the dull coat is Polly-S, and wow, is that flat! (Nod to Swanny for the Polly-S recommendation.)

Comments are welcome. Thanks for looking.

Beautiful build…excellent paint and weathering. Love the markings too, thanks for sharing this one with us. Darren.

Very nicely done [tup]. Great lookingt Tomcat & a fitting tribute to the retiring of this warbird…

Regards, Rick

Beautiful and a fitting tribute to a great warrior! I am very impressed with your detailing, weathering and paint - all combined to make an outstanding presentation. Thanks for sharing!

Great job MaCooke. It looks great.I hope mine comes out looking half that good!

Um,wow. That looks awesome.Fitting tribute to one heck of an airplane.I still can’t believe they are retiring it.

Outstanding work!

Mark

Darren, Rick, Brian, Zone V, Allen and Mark: thanks for the compliments! This one was started in March, I put probably 110 to 130 hours total in. The intakes didn’t get finished because of the FOD covers, same for the exhausts. I’m working on a deadline, and I’m a day or two late shipping it. The last Hasegawa Tomcat I did was started in May of last year, and finished in February this year, with a total of about 170 hours. Finished one, started another. I must be nuts.
