F-117 experts

When a 117 nighthawk is at rest, do the elevons drop?
Thanks in advance.

I am by no means an expert but from the pics I have, the answer is yes. But there are also pics of it parked with the elevons up.

Speaking from general experience with jet-powered aircraft with hydraulically-assisted controls, there is normally somewhat of a “hydraulic lock” that occurs when the hydraulic systems are de-powered. This is done in order to keep the primary control surfaces from flapping in the breeze, and typically takes the place of mechanical locks. Things like trailing-edge flaps and leading-edge slats (if hydraulically actuated) often are allowed to droop (a-la B727) by design.

Most turbine-powered aircraft operate very similar to one-another. Being that I’m only type-rated on a handful of them (none of which are the F117) please take the above as an educated guess! Thanks!

I am by no means an expert, however every F-117 I’ve been around had elevon droop. Even the verticals tend to be off center.
