I don’t normally post here, but this is the old Monogram 1/48 F-111A that I back dated to the first prototype. I did it for a Monogram Classics Group Build over at ARC.
All that is left is little nitpicky stuff and a final clear coat and I will call this one done.
Hope everyone likes.

Great work mate,
I’m a huge fan of the F-111 as my dad used to fly them in the RAAF. I was able to get up close and personal with 39768, the 3rd F-111 prototype as it’s out here at Amberley air base in Queensland and it looks like you’ve done a really good job of back dating it. I like how you’ve done the fairings at the rear of the F-111 and that you’ve filled the vents on the top of the fuselage too.
It’s a little late to change now, but the first 11 F-111’s and the F-111B’s had ejection seats as the ejection capsuals weren’t ready yet. I believe they fired through the canopy.
Nice work on the paint and decals too.
Cheers
Mark
Ps. Here’s a pic of 768 as she is today. I only hope time has been as kind to 766.

I knew the first ones had ejection seats, but I decided not to change it.
766 is sitting fully restored at the Air Force Flight Test Center Museum.
Great build, Steve.
I hope you start to post here more often.
Nicely done Steve. It’s been a long time since I saw the old monogram F-111. You did her proud.
Regards, Rick
