F-105G Main Landing Gear Covers

Hi on the net: I am buliding Trupeters F-105G in 1/32 scale and in and article in Fine Scale modeler the author Larry Schramn if I am not mistaken. he mentions that the main wheel covers on the Trupeter kit lack detail. All of the photos that I have seen don’t show any detail other than a slight thickness difference. Anyone have any idea what he is talking about.

There are two pictures that show some of the door detail on my website, link below, but I’m sure you would like something closer in. I’ll have to get some more photos next time I’m at McClellan. There is not a lot of detail, just relief.

I went to the Cavanaugh Flight Museum today and got a partial pic of one, behind the MiG.

The picture doesn’t do the MiG justice.

Anyway, hope this helds.

I was back at the McClellan Museum Saturday and updated my web page on the 105 with a lot of detail photos of all of the landiojng gear and doors. Here’s the link again:

There actually is a fair amount of detail on the main gear doors, and especially the way they are attached solid below the oleo piston and on slides above it.
