F-105 / F-4 /F-15 Pix

I’m presently building a Trumpeter F-105G and eventually will get around to another F4 of some variant. Last night I remembered seeing an F-105 on static display at Arnold AFB in Tullahoma, TN. I looked on the AEDC web site to verify that, and sure enough they have an F-105 (D-model?) and an F-4C on static display. Sinec Tullahoma is close to Nashville I thought I’d take a run down there and get some pictures of them.

I sent AEDC an email to see if there would be any problems photographing them (they are right on the highway, but taking a camera onto federal property is not something I want to do right now without permission!). Haven’t heard back from them, since I sent the email last night, so when / if I go is sort of dependant on that.

If anyone needs specific photos of a section of an F-105 or F-4FC let me know and I’ll try and get it for you. Admittedly there are hundreds of photos available of these two birds, but if you need something specific, like a landing gear closeup, I’ll see what I can do.

Photos of the displays are here: http://www.arnold.af.mil/aedc/display.htm but I can’t tell a lot about them. The intakes on both apprear to be plugged, and I suspect the exhaust ends are as well.

Update … 4/3/04 12:33cdt I just got an email back from AEDC that said it was fine to take picture of the static display birds. I was also told, and I was unaware of this, that they have an F-15 (the variant was not sprcified) on display as well so include that on the list.
