Just out of curiosity I was wondering how many people would like to see an injection molded kit of the F-101 Voodoo in 1/32 scale? As you can probably guess from my avatar the Voodoo is my personal favorite.
Would love to Ken!
I have the vac-pac version…lol…
Oh that would be a big beast…[:O] I always did love the look of the single seaters… Not that I have the room for a 32nd scale Voodoo… but if the price was right I could not say no…[whstl]
According to my calculations the F-101B version would be about 25.28 inches long with a wingspan of 14.875 inches. I would have to build one of each version. Maybe C & H Aero would make the conversion kits like they do for the 1/48 Revell kit!
Ken
Over 2 feet long…not exactly a petite bird in 1/32… Wingspan quite reasonable…[^o)]I would love to see Revell tackle it… Their 1/32 Hawker Hunter is the best large scale jet that I have built… excellent engineering, fit, and detail… and quite affordable [;)]
I’d sign up to get one but I know that with the way kits are priced nowadays, I wouldn’t be able to afford it anyway.

And a Deuce. Not my scale, but the 105 is very impressive at that scale. Good idea.
I would not mind seeing a F-94C or a F-89 in that Scale. They would be fun.
I only build in 1/32 (they’re hard enough… smaller would kill me), and would absolutely buy an F101. I’d also love to see an F-84-F in 1/32. My father was a TAC crew chief from 1960-66, and maintained the F-84-F, F-100, F-101, and F-104. The 100 in 1/32 is covered by Trumpeter, but I haven’t seen the others.
I’d eventually love to build the whole set of 4 in that scale.
Hasegawa has made a Starfighter for a while. But I agree, anything Thundersomething would be great. Not too big, classic lines.
I totally agree with you. Trumpeter has announced that they will be offering the F-100F in 1/32 scale sometime soon. Italeri has also announced that they will be offering the F-104G in 1/32 scale sometime in the future. HobbyBoss is supposed to come out with a 1/32 scale F-84G next month. I already have the HobbyBoss F-84E in 1/32 scale and it is a very nice kit.

Revell also makes a 1/32 F-104 of about the same vintage as Hasegawas. They can be found fairly inexpensive on Ebay…
Ken your calculations should be very close, I can’t vouch for the accuracy of the RCM vac unit, but it comes out a whopping 26.75" long, wing span at 14.75". Very thin plastic, in fact, Wayferr thin…
Dom
Hi Dom,
I look forward to seeing you start on that. After seeing some of your other hand crafted projects, it should turn out very nice!
Ken
Ken;
Thanks for the vote of confidence!
Those intake ducts for the F-4 still have me stymied…the vac plastic didn’t want to conform, and I ended up ripping them…I’m thinking about strips and yes…putty…
I’ll save the Voodoo for your GB. Between now and then I have to decide whether to fill it with foam, or re-line it with styrene strip.

Best 104 footage I ever saw… the end of “The Right Stuff”.
The only jets I ever built in 1/32, besides the good old Revell Me 262, was a two fer set Revell had with an F-4 and a Mig 21. I thought that Mig was pretty cool at the time.
Built that monstrousity of a Revell kit, their F-4 Phantom way, wayyyy back, about 1975 or so… Same with the MiG-21, and F-104…
The Phantom in FSM Review-speak, was “a challenging kit, and one that I’d recommend only for experienced modelers”…[;)]
The only other jets I ever did in 1/32 was the Revell Me 262 Nachtjager and much later (after I made E-4 and could afford it), a Hasegawa A-4… I also remember that I ended up using the seat and stick from that kit to deatail the cockpit of the “1/32-ish” Monogram kit of the Colonial Viper… The Scooter’s stick was a dead-ringer for the stick in the “Viper Cockpit” shots…
