Here’s a blast from my past. I grew up in western Mass in the 60s-70s and remember seeing these planes fly over my town especially at the 4th of July parades. The base they were at was about 30 miles east of my childhood home in western Ma. at Barnes AFB in Westfield Ma., a few miles east of them was Westover AFB which in the late 60s and early 70s was the home of the “black belly” BUFF, aka B-52. I got many free airshows back in the day.
Many years ago I’ve built ERTL’s 100F - had a lot of fun with it! Good luck with your build and have a nice day!

Thanks, I built this kit a couple years ago with the kit decals as “Pretty Penny” NMF. Want to give it a try with SEA camo.
One of my favourite planes in my preferred scale. Looking forward to this one. Don’t often see them done in the SEA camo.
I’ve always loved the century series aircraft, especially with metallic finishes.
Nicely Done!
Turned out great! I’m always torn between NMF and SEA when it’s an option - love them both. Also a big fan of all those birds with the big gaping yaw intakes like this, the A7, F86 etc
That NMF in the post above was done 3 years ago, the one in progress now is going to be SEA camouflage.
Some work. The kit is old and has a few issues. The wings had a short shot on the right wing tip so I had to make a patch and fill the rest with putty. The fuselage fit was OK but will need some putty and sanding and the intake is very short with no compressor fan so I will paint the blanked off area inside the intake black. I have 22 grams of weight in the nose.
Nice work on the wingtip repair. The plane is progressing nicely.
Thanks, I needed real thin plastic to patch it, ever build a 1/144 Revell Airbus A320? PLENTY of material!!! Here’s my “stock” of thin plastic patching material.
I’m from Mass (live in Vermont now) and have been to several air shows at Barnes, although long after the F-100’s left. I’ll be watching this! I have a 1/48 scale Monogram F-100 that I want to build with Mass ANG markings. I have decals for Barnes A-10s, F-15s, and Otis F-106s and F-15s, but there doesn’t seem to be any decal sets for the F-100s so I’m going to have to work a bit harder at it.
Thanks, I did a gray A-10A with MA ANG markings and a F-106 from Cape Cod in MA ANG markings. I have been to many airshows at Barnes and Westover and also at Hanscom Field in Bedford MA. I haven’t come across any decal sheets for F-100Ds from Barnes in any scale so I am going to use stars and bars from the ESCI kit then get a set of white letters and numbers in 1/72 scale to do the tail markings. The only other marking is a red and white stripe on the tail, if memory serves me right they honored ex Polish-American pilots who served in the guard after WWII. I believe the guard in Boston used a green stripe for the Irish. I think that unit eventually moved from Logan to Otis-I think.
I have the tan and gray done and am now masking for the lighter green on the topside. After that I can mask for the last color a darker green to complete the SEA camouflage.
I can’t wait to see the rest of the paint. I wish I could see more of the process.
What process? There’s not much to this kit, it’s only 50 parts of a 43 year old kit. I don’t understand what process you are referring to.
