I want to do an old model F-100 but I cant find the right one. I need help looking for a YF-100, F-100A, then C or D models. I want to make this for my grandpa that used to work on these, but I only found the F-100F model. Any websites you find on these would be great. Thanks.
Lindberg made a 1/48 scale model of the proto-type F-100, or an early model A. It should be readily available because they continue to release their old kits. I’m not sure how accurate it is, but they were usually fairly accurate as to shape but lacked detail. The Lindberg F-100 was first released in the late 1950s or early 1960s and to my knowledge has not been updated.
I think Cutting Edge makes a conversion kit in 1/48th scale for the Monogram 1/48th F-100 D, but I do not recall if the conversion was for an A model or a C model. I do not remember seeing an A model in 1/72nd scale, but there are several C and D models by Hasagawa, Italieri, Revel, and a few others.
Ertl also released a 1/48th C model. If you want to do an A model or the proto-type YF-100 It will require a scratch built conversion if the Cutting Edge conversion is for the C model (I think that is what it was). Good luck. rangerj
Thanks for the info it has taken me forever to find them. I will look some more on those brands. THanks!
Cutting Edge @ Meteor Productions makes a resin conversion kit for making the 1/48 Monogram kit into a C model. Italeri makes a nice 1/72 C and a 2 seat F model.
some good kits here, I may snatch me up one
