EZ Line

I’m trying to find a scorce for some EZ Line. I here/read good things about it and would like to give it a try. Maybe I’m not searching the correct thing. Not the best at computers. Can someone point me in the right direction. Thank you and Happy building!

I think that Woodland Senics carries it.

I bought my roll off of Amazon several years back.

I have not had the best of luck with EZ Line.

As in, sometimes CA holds it fast, and other times, eats away slowly at the join, leaving a mess.

Some of that will be self-inflicted for very deliberately using the tiniest sizes for better scale effect.

Note that EZ is actually flattens, not round, so you want to us max magification with your optivisor to try and get it to lay as flat as possible.

Your Mileage May Vary.

(My go-tos remains fly-tying and suture silks [and synthetics in the latter case]–and those are often no easier to find than EZ.)

If you do a web search for ‘EZ Line’ together with ‘hobby’ or ‘Berkshire Junction,’ you’re likely to turn up dozens of sources. You can also order it direct from Berkshire – they actually developed it – but I believe they only take orders by Email.

I’ve ordered “EZ Line” from Berkshire a few times. Haven’t had any problems with it. Used it on the models I restored for the local WWII museum. They liked it and so far none of the finished models have been damaged by curious finger stabbers or became undone on their own.

Removing a small spot of paint on the attachment point at both ends and using CA glue makes for quick and permanent joints.

Stay safe.

I’m with Jim, I love the stuff. Never had a spot of trouble with it, and it makes rigging so much easier.

As pointed out above, it is actually flat in section, so keeping it from twisting is important. But – if you happen to be a WW1 a/c builder – you can make that work for you, when simulating the ‘flat’ rigging wires the RFC used on many of their a/c in that era. Just don’t tension it quite as tightly, and the scale effect is just right! [Y]

Aha!

Hi, I use Easy line a lot. Now there is a certain school of thought because easy line in cross section is actually flat like a ribbon. That’s okay whos gonna notice? Nobody I’ve run across! BUT! I have been using a product for years I get from Scale Scenics(A Model Rail Scenics product Company) it’s actually,(Or I think it is) a very fine springy thread. I got it years ago to string power and light poles on my O and H.O and N scale model railroads.(There’s a lot of wires and transformers and other things near ports of departure concerning ships). I don’t know if it’s any way related, But! and I quote " Use Easy Line, You won’t be disappointed". This thread is also available at H.L in the sewing Hobby Dept.

Ahoy upsjuan,

I’ve purchased my ezline directly from berkshire.

See: https://berkshirejunction.website/ez-line/

It can be tricky to use, but it’s good stuff once you get the hang of it. The line is avaliable in two thicknesses and several colors. Good Luck

Thanks everyone! I will be ordering some today! Happy building!

Let us know how you like it and how you used it. Some pics would be nice too.

Stay safe.
