I bought the Testors decal kit today and I’ve started to draw some eyes in Adobe Illustrator. I’ve drawn them oversize and will scale them down to 1/35".
My biggest doubt is how easy it will be to trim the small eye decal close enough to the edge to make it fit the figures eye socket.
I bought the Testors kit to make decals for another project, and if the eyes idea doesn’t work I’ll buy the Archers eyeball set.
Hi neilc, I’m a beginer when comes to figures, but I have some experience with planes and choppers, it woudn’t be easier to cut them a little bit bigger than the eye socket, then apply them (the usual stuff: decal set o micro set and finally micro sol) and wait’til they are completely set and with an x-acto knife (brand new) to trim the excess.
I use the Testors decal material quite often with good results. I’ve not considered making eye decals but did buy eye decals from Archer and am pretty happy with those.
