Expert help

It’s interesting that the "Champion Spark Plug " logo would be on the exterior of a spaceship (61) … somebody had a sense of humor [(-D].

Was this model used in a movie ?

Shellback,

It was used in Star Wars: A New Hope. The model is 5feet long!!![:D]

Terrell: Did you say you’re intending on doing a 1:1 replica? You mean lifesize? or a copy of the 5’ model you’re showing?

He’s been trying to replicate the studio model with the actual model kit parts for a few years now. Not the full sized mock up, but the miniature used in filming.

Is some little devil building a Milleniuim Falcon?

Pic 1 is an engine block probably monogram 1/25th scale

Pic 2 could be Gun barrels

Pic 3 radiator probably tamiya1/20th Formula 1

Pic 4 Probably Ferrari gear box top moulding

Pic 5 Ferrari 312T engine bottom

Pic 6 I’d rekon a car again

Pic 7 is more than likely an oil cooler probably Porsche

They are my guesses.

Terry

Next time i watch that movie i’ll look for this model…[:)]

Thanks guys I am truly amazed with all your wisdom, given me starting points and maybe donor kits![8D]

T26E4:Rob hit the nail on the head. I am building a studio miniature. A full size mock up would be too big to park in the garage and my wife would probally make me live in it!!!.[swg]

Terry 35: Your guesses are appreciated, they give me some sort of starting point[:D]

Shellback: If you have HBO they are running all the Star Wars movies. I have seen Star Wars A New Hope 7 times this month.

Terrell

Make that 8 times, on last night[(-D]

[#oops] I missed it ![:(]

[:)]

Awww man!!! I could watch this movie everyday! Everytime I see the falcon I just want to hurry up and get started and finish it!!!

Rob:The wolverine kit is a definite! Did they ever make a kit either 1/15 or 1/25 scale?

No, the only M10 or M36 kit for decades were the Tamiya kits in 1/35 scale. I already compared the pics to the old, built M36 I have and it is a definite match. The M10 and M36 shared a lot of common parts with the actual turret exterior and gun being the difference between the two kits.

Rob, thanks for clearing this up! I was told that there may have been a 1/25 or 1/15 kit made.

Terrell

I’m also thinking that these are halves of the torpedoes from the 1/72 scale Airfix Sea King. I have this kit, and both the 1/72 scale Esci Valentine/Bishop and 1/76 scale Fujimi Valentine. I can take photos of the parts and post them to see which of the identified pieces are correct.

Rob, thanks a million!!![:D]

I would love to see the photos!

Hi Terrel

There are tons of extra and spare parts on Ebay. Go to ‘Toys n Hobbies’, then ‘models’, and type in ‘parts’. Last year I got a twenty pound box of spare parts for like 20 bucks. You may very well find what you need there.

For example…

hwells,

Thanks for the advice and you are correct something may show up![8D]

Terrell

Here’s the Jackon’s turret ammo racks.

And the Fujimi Valentine’s back deck (the Esci kit is different and not right). I took it on the Jackson turret so you could see the approximate size of both items match the studio photos.

Whoohooo!!![:D][:D][:D]

Those are the parts!!!

Thanks Rob[tup][tup]

This means alot!!!
