Back in the early/mid 90’s there used to be a sci-fi cartoon (American made) called Exo Squad about humans fighting an intra-solar system battle against genetically made creatures. The show followed a squad of troopers that used Exo skeletal machines to fight in. I am wondering if anyone who remembers this show has any idea if someone out there makes model kits from this show? It may be a long shot, but I did like the cartoon (and indeed I just found Hulu.com has all the episodes!..score!)
I remember the show and I think they had a series of toys that came out at the same time. That’s about your best bet. If you can find them, fix them up with plastic, metal tubes. and what ever else you can find.
Somehow I should not have been surprised, but alas I was when I discovered the Wikipedia actually had a page on Exo Squad. What I found interesting was this particular line under the “Media and Franchise” section:
“Between 1993 and 1996, Playmates Toys produced a line of action figures and model kits of E-frames and spaceships featured in the television series.”
So I take it to mean they did produce a series of kits. A little Google searching turns up nothing solid, so my next stop right now is eBay to see what I can turn up there.
Well, eBay did not deliver much. I have been going through page after page from the Google search engine and I am not finding much. So far Wikipedia has the only reference to model kits I can find. Plenty of reference to the action figures, etc. But that seems to be about it at this point. I’ll keep trying, but I don’t think I will be turning up much more.
