i just purchased an f-18 kit and a carrier crew and would like make a diorama of a carrier flight deck. so here comes the questions…

  1. i know that a while back someone posted a message about modeling a carrier deck and i was wondering if anyone knew about that. also is there any after market parts avaliable that would make building the deck/cat any easier?
  2. does anyone have a link to a site where they list the various shirt colors for deck crews and to what color each job has.
  3. i never have attempted to paint panel lines before and i would really like to do it on this kit. when putting down the black on the panel lines, how wide should it be? also when using spray paint (im at school and dont have access to my airbrush) is there any hints as to how and still do a good paint job and not paint over the lines i made?.
    thanks for the help.

Well, I know what a couple of the shirts are: white is aircraft moving, red is armament, and green is catapults, there are other colors: purple and blue, but I don’t know what they do. if you do a google search, you should be able to find this info pretty easy. also, I would mask off the different colors (You can use soft masks for soft edges), and the spray pain should work fine. Just remember to take it slow, and apply the paint in thin coats. Happy modeling! (maybe you could post some in- progress pics for us[:D])

By the way, do you play football? (the name, maybe I should change mine to TE#12[:D])

White-safety and lso, brown-plane capt’.s, yellow-control movement, purple-re-fuelers

oh yeah, that’s it![:D]
