Eurofighter

Does anyone know the shades of grey used on the Eurofighter Typhoon? Specifically the RAF one?

Couldn’t find an exact reference, but from the pics I’ve seen, I’d guess its Barley Grey, a common color used by the RAF for modern camo, with a slightly darker shade grey radome. I know the Brit E-3Ds are Barley Grey, check out pictures side by side with the Typhoon to see what I mean. Hope this helps.

Im in the same predicament w/ my Eurofighter. The info I’ve gotten is that it is not truly Camo/Barley grey, but a very slightly bluer hue for the RAF jets. They are also painting their radomes the same color as the fuselage now (like the Tornado GR.4s). The Italian, Spainish and German jets have the slightly darker radome. For the RAF Tiffy I would start w/ Barley (or RAF camoflage grey), and add one drop at a time of blue-grey until the hue appears right to your eye. I think thats what I’ll do for mine. Frank

Thanks Guys,

Does anyone have a mix for Barley grey using Tamiya or Model Master Acryls?

In acrylics, you have several choices. Model Master Acryl has Camoflage grey (also known as Barley grey). Gunze Sangyo has a “Barley grey” and Xtracrylic has a whole RAF line, including Camoflage (barley) grey. Nothing listed for Tamiya. Good luck. Hope it helps. Frank

Hello AD,
Best I’ve been able to find out is that RAF Eurofighter Typhoons are in the Air Defence Grey scheme. B.S.381C-626 Camouflage Grey.
As an aside, what it is with all this Grey ? Lo Vis, Stealthy, can’t see me can’t shoot at me ? Excuse me, but all those zippy whizz bang things dangling under the wings don’t care what colour your aircraft is, they’re gonna get you miles away. So why not paint the aircraft in NICE colours, like they used too? Anyone who ever saw a Avro Vulcan hurtling along in it’s Dark Green/Grey disruptive camo, now that was impressive. But I ramble, hope the info helps.
Best Wishes
Mick C.

Overall colour is BS381c/626 Camouflage(Barley) Grey. Cockpit is BS381c/632 Dark Admiralty Grey. L/e & t/e flap interiors FS36280. Intake flap interior Barley Grey. Intake duct (beyond intake flap) FS26492. Radome FS36314 Flint Grey.

Thanks eveyone for the help much appreciated.

Viper I know what you mean, at least they have squadron emblems on the tail. I watched a six ship takeoff from the end of Coningsby runway 2 weeks ago, was great.
