Going to try some phot etch for the 1st time.Would Mission Model’s Etchmate 3-C bending rig be a worth while purchase ?

Any thoughts or alternate suggestions out there?

The etchmate is nice but I just can’t shell out $50+ for one. I ordered a cheap plastic 4" knock-off from Ebay and it works nicely. Don’t get me wrong, if someone gave me the money I’d grab one up immediately. I bet it makes bendin’ those 251 fenders w/ toolboxes nice and smooth.

I have the older model and it does work well. If you are bending large amount of big or complicated PE. If you only have a few pieces to fold and the folds are not complicated, a straght edge like a steel ruler and a razor blade will do just as good as job.

after some use of the etch mate now which did work very well i bought the 5 speed hold’n’fold

i must admit this is a far superiour tool imho

I’ll be interested to hear your opinion on what features make the hold & fold better than the etchmate.
