Et Tu Dragon?

Just got back into my 1:32 dragon P-51D early.

one a scale of 1-10, 1 being early 72nd scale airfix, 10 being modern tamiya. id rate it a 6 so far.

Instructions are missing steps, are unclear, even missing parts.

The kit itself is way heavy on the detail, eg if i were to scale it up to 1-1 the panel lines would be about 2 inches across with 4 inch bolts holding it all together.

I knew it was a severely average kit, but i at least thought dragon would do better than this.

Im up to installing internal bits and bobs and have discovered i have to leave the engine free so i can get the alignment right later, the cockpit floor is warped and isnt wide enough at the front, The radiator intake grill is too big for the hole, thats just so far and i havent even got half way through the internals.

And another thing, soooo many sprues[blkeye] i keep getting them tangled up, how do i stop this?

Thanks for reading my little rant, just thought id let you all know that even if it does cost twice as much, go the tamiya kit.

Sometimes I just don’t get it when a company goes to all the trouble of making such good quality subjects in this day and age and to put together that P-51makes me scratch my head. Dragon goes the extra mile on most of their modern stuff…oh well, must be that profit margin thing.

Trivial. Put each sprue in a plastic zip-loc.

Huh, never thought of that, thank you so much.
