ERTL/Imai Golden Hind & Mayflower kits

Hi Everyone,
I have the chance to purchase a 1/70 ERTL/Imai Golden Hind kit and a 1/70 ERTL/Imai Mayflower kit and I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge or experience with either of these kits. The larger size is attractive to me(old eyes & fingers). I presently have the Golden Hind by both Revell and Heller in my stash and two of the old Revell 1/83 Mayflower kits too. I was wondering how these ERTL/Imai kits compare to these other manufacturers’ kits.

I can’t speak to the Hind but the Mayflower kit although very basic is actually quite nice. Builds up well and with some good paint and weathering looks the part.

Thanks for your input Tcoat! I’ve decided to “pull the trigger” and get these two kits.
