Ernst Barkmann's Panther G

Hello,

Does anyone have color plates and photo references of Ernst Barkmann’s Panther G? I am not sure whether his Panther have zimmerit or not, if so, whether it was a standard or waffle zimmerit. The Google search is very conflicting. Also, what type of camo and number does it have on?

I thank you for your help!

VS

WOW, did you painted those figures?

They are amazing. Im a thousand light years to do something like that.

really, really, they are book quality. Simply perfect!!

I think this pretty much sums up what is known about Barkmann’s Panther G, # 401;

Thank you gentlmen, @garzonh yes I did, thank you for the kind words.

VS those figures are unbelievable. Most of us, and I really mean most of us have a lot of trouble with figures. I have books, seen tutorials and still they’re barely passable. If you have any tips you could pass on to us mortals it would be much appreciated. Anything from the tools you use to the paint and techniques, because your paint and shading is flawless.

Those figures are extraordinary!!! The sense of highlights and shadows, and just general weathering is masterful

Thank you gents for the kind words. However, I still have problem painting female nudes LOL

having hard time with Barkman’s reference, can anyone help some more? Thank you.

Hi VS,

You got me interested, I am fumbling arround with a Panther G myself, so I googled arround and found some interesting reading.

At least two different encounters are regullary reffered to.

Below a Wiki link.

en.wikipedia.org/…/Ernst_Barkmann

The link suggests the following:

July 44, Normandie, Barkmanns corner. Panther A turret # 424

Dec 44, Ardennes, Panther G turret # 401.

The link bellow shows the construction of a Panther G, turret #301 posted by Jason Boulter on Missing Lynx. This is what I will be heading for.

There is a lot of contradicting information though so hopefully someone can help and nail this down.

Zack

Correction: was 43 is 44 (Sorry)

Ernst Barkmann had at least 5 Panthers, which one are we talking about?
