Equivalent for Field Grey?

In many Dragon kits the painting guide calls for Field Gray (1)… H32 in Gunze Sangyo Aqueous Hobby color, or simply 40 in Gunze Sangyo Mr. Color… somebody told me that there is no equivalence in Model Master… is that true?.. is there an equivalent in Humbrol or Tamiya?.. at least a close match… these are the only three brands that I can get in my country…

Model Master makes a Field Grey! I use it all the time

Tamiya’s has a German Grey , XF-63.

Tamiya has a field gray. I have heard that vallejo makes the most accurate one.
I use the tamiya but add just a tadd bit of light grey in.

Hmmm. Gunze Sangyo Aqueous 32 is a gloss, Gunze Sangyo Mr. Color 40 is a flat.

I find this site invaluable for colour references . It doesn’t show a direct reference for your colour but this this site does and it’s Tamiya XF-63.

I find this colour, along with their rendition of Olive Drab, to be far too dark.

[#ditto] thats why I add the light grey.
