epoxy putty and milliput

Hi

What is the difference between epoxy putty and milliput?

Andrew

From what I’ve read:

Milliput is easier to shape…accepts paint better…and easy to apply.

Read the same about epoxy…but there are MANY types of epoxy…?

Personally, I use Bondo spot/glazing putty…but want to try Milliput

About 4 bucks…[:D]

Seriously though… Miliput’s the same as plumber’s epoxy, just has a longer setting time to allow more workability and time for sculpting. I personally don’t use it, simply because I really don’t do anything that justifies the more expensive Miliput. Sandbags, tent and bedrolls, clothing, molds, any parts you make that require only one side to be shown, plain ol’ hardware store epoxy is a better deal. Costs about 2.75. Miliput’s not as sticky as epoxy, and doesn’t smell, but I just wet my fingers with a little rubbing alcohol while I’m working with it, and I don’t care about smells…

I am using tamiya epoxy putty.

I have used milliput and it is really sticky!!

When useing milliput its recomended to use baby powder so it doesnt stick to your fingers or the rolling pin, If useing it for zimmerit roll it out super thin and wet the model with water to get it to stick.

Thanks everyone
