Hi,
I have an eight year old who is excited about WWI and WWII and I think he would love the world of model kits; however, I’m not sure how skilled we would be at painting and glueing. I’ve seen some of the snap tite models, but it looks like some of them need to be painted. Is this something we could do knowing that I have absolutely no artistic talent whatsoever? Also, are there any good WWI and WWII soldiers/figures that don’t require painting?

Might like to try one of those meng 'toon tanks. They aren’t complicated (one piece tracks) and don’t have to be perfect. For eight years of age it might be a fun and amusing project.

Squadron sells some pre-painted kits under their own brand. They are also available from Hobby Lobby. I would call them “Snap Tight +”. While mostly snap, there are parts which will need some glue/adult assistance. My IPMS chapter has used these in the past year for our make and take program. The Spitfire is good. The FW-190 is a bit fiddley. I know there is a P-51 in the series, but have not seen it or other kits in the series
I know Revell and Airfix both put out some kits known as Snaptites or snap kits. These are aimed at that very market. Look at those. No gluing or painting.

Try some Pegasus models snap to get her kits. They do not make WWI kits, but they have a good selection of WWII kits.

The Hobbyboss Easy Assembly kit are a good choice. The club Ed and I belong to have used them at various Make and Takes. They will need to be painted though.
