Eduards P-40N Warhawk - Completed

I last posted on this build in June 2011 and completed it since then, and failed to post the final photos. I’ve been working on a couple 1/48 scale jeeps, one of which I want to put in a Pacific Theater diorama with this P-40N. This is Eduards 1/48 Sharkmouths over China but I built it mostly because of the awesome pin-up art decals I had. I love WWII pin-up art.

The first link below is to subsequent posts for the P-40N build, and the second is to the jeep builds I’m still working on for the diorama, if anyone is interested.

This is the nose art that motivated me to do the build.

This P-40N served on an island in the South Pacfic, the name I forget. So I want to put it on a an arifield base with the jeep and a couple figures, doing something.

I tend to get pretty wrapped up in details when I do a build, thus the reason it takes so long to complete and the long periods between posts.

Thanks for looking and I welcome all comments, suggestions and critiques.

Hey Steve, All I can say is that all of that time was well spent. Well spent indeed! That is absolutely gorgeous. A simply marvelous P-40. Especially on the masking/painting job you’ve done on the tail and leading wing edge. Very sharp and clean. That will look great in your dio especially if your Jeep gets a like treatment. Joe

Strange- somehow I missed your earlier posts!?!

Beautiful work there - love how she turned out! And the Jeep doesn’t look too bad either!

I remember seeing that thread. Beautiful work.

Stunning. Love USAAF in the Pacific Theater. A great subject, very well done.

Nice work!

Glenn

Killer looking P-40!

That’s a really sweet P-40- I have a hard time believing that it isn’t 1/32!

Just awesome all the way around.

Beauty mate! What a great job you’ve done on her. Congrats on a super build!!

Gary

Great work Steve. Love the pit. Photo work isn’t shabby either.

I hate the word awesome, but hey, it’s an Awesome build!

Thanks much for all the great comments, I really appreciate them.

Gamera - The last time I updated this post was June 2011, an dupdates up until then were not very frequent, so it would’ve been easy to miss the posts. As I said in earlier posts, I’m not a fast builder mostly because I really get wrapped up in detailing. This build took more than two years but I had a about a year break in the middle of it when we moved into our new house (had to finish and set-up my new hobby room).

Dre - I swear it’s 1/48.

Fox - The photo work is the most challenging thing for me, I have always have a hard time with it. For some reason I get it mostly right this time.
