Eduard's new Trumpeter Avenger frets

I just got the monthly Eduard releases, and the highlight for June is the release of seven PE sets all for one kit: the Trumpeter 1:32 Avenger. And these frets, one the Interior and bomb bay sets, are HUGE, as are the flaps. I take issue with making some of these things separate sets. For example, the seatbelts are packaged as a separate set at an outrageous price. All you need is some of their US Navy seatbelts in 1/32, because there’s nothing special about these Avenger belts except the high price. But I’ll bet with all these frets in these multi-fret sets come to over a thousand PE parts. Also, they came out with a mask set for all that glass. Take a look at the photos of the parts in place on www.eduard.cz.
My happy discovery this month was the much smaller, but quite good and reasonably priced color set for the 1:32 Roden Fokker Dr. 1. And their last Profipak kit is out, the Bristol F.2B “Brisfit.” It’s arguably the finest WW I plane Eduard has ever released, either in the Profipak or the “Plain” version. And except for markings and a small PE fret, there’s no difference beyond five bucks in price. This is not a wham-bam project either. It’s very detailed with lots of parts.

Thanks for the review Tom. I’ve noticed a pretty healthy price increase in much of Eduard’s new releases.

You spend as much for the detail kits together as you do for the model. With that much detail it better be able to actually fly! Modeling sure has changed since 1963.
