I completed this model along side my Zvezda La-5f, as it got the same color treatment. This is the old Accurate Miniatures plastic as it appears in the Eduard Limited Edition box, which includes pe and canopy mask goodies, as well as an excellent decal sheet with very cool schemes. The Accurate Miniatures kit is real nice by itself, but suffers in the clear parts, so a vaccuform canopy from Rob Tarus was used. I also used resin exhaust from quickboost, and some resin wheels from Komplet Zip-Russian company whose products you can purchase from Linden Hill in the US. I added a pitot tube from brass tube and EZ line for the antenna wire.

I chose to model white 41, a Yak serving with 267 IAP in Yugoslavia in the spring of '45. The inscription reads “Free Donbass” refering to the Donbass region? The camo was mixed using Gunze aqueous, then given an oil was and some post shading and exhaust stains. Hope you like it!
Nathan, that is a beaut. You’ll really got those Soviet colors down. I’m digging the weathering too. All combat aircraft should be grungy. Thanks for sharing…
Cnq, Wingnut, Vance, Stik- Thanks for checking in. Glad you guys like it. I’m starting to fall in love with Russian subjects, model aircraft subjects that is.
