Eduard WWI kits questions

I see that the Eduard models come in three levels,

  1. weekend with very few parts

  2. regular kit that has many more and

  3. PROFIPACK that includes photo etched parts.

  4. are the regular and profipack the same plastic?

  5. If not does the Profipack include machine guns OTHER than photoetched, or are they a combination photoetch and plastic?

  6. are there any after market suppliers that have WWI machine guns available other than photoetched?

thanks,

Dan

  1. I don’t think Eduard uses the Profipack label on any of their newer releases, but in any case the plastic is the same in all three levels of their kit boxings. The so called weekend kits don’t include any of the PE or resin details that may be in the other boxings & has only one marking option on the decal sheet. Other than that, the weekend kits are the same as the other versions.

  2. Yes. As noted, the plastic is the same in all versions of a kit.

  3. I haven’t checked in a while, but I believe the answer is yes. Might check on Quickboost or CMK to name a couple.

Dan,
Which ever Eduard kit you might fancy, don’t hesitate…just get it…no kidding - just buy the thing.
Eduard make some of the finest, best engineered, finely detailed kits ever produced. I’ve bought a fair number of their kits, and am in awe of their outstanding quality - in every respect.
Think Tamiya, but better…
I’ve enjoyed every Eduard kit I’ve made - and look forward to buying many more.

Dan, I was searching the web,& came across a notice about Eduard releasing several WWI 1/48 figures of airmen & mechanics. You might want to check them out if your interested. just thought I`d let you & everyone else know…
